Tricsoft Technologies Engages Soroti Municipal Secondary School Students on the Benefits of Buckpocket
On 18th October 2024, we had the privilege of engaging with students and staff of Soroti Municipal Secondary School in a session aimed at introducing them to Buckpocket. The event, held during the school's assembly, was led by the company’s Technical Support Officer, Ms. Ameso Rebecca, who shared valuable insights into how Buckpocket is changing financial transactions for students and schools alike.
Buckpocket is a keyholder-enabled digital payment wallet that has already made significant strides in Ugandan schools by promoting cashless transactions. The platform, which is supported by a mobile app and a USSD code, allows parents to seamlessly send financial support to their children without the need for physical cash. This reduces the risks associated with carrying money and enhances transparency in school fee payments, pocket money, and other financial transactions.
During her session, Ms. Rebecca took the time to explain how Buckpocket operates, emphasizing its ease of use for students and school administrators alike. For students, the ability to manage their allowances, pay for school services, and access funds easily is a game-changer. For school management, Buckpocket offers a streamlined way to track and reconcile payments, improving efficiency and reducing the possibility of errors in financial reporting.

One of the key aspects of the presentation was the emphasis on security and convenience. By leveraging digital technologies, Buckpocket ensures that transactions are secure and timely, giving both parents and students peace of mind. Moreover, the platform supports the broader goal of advancing financial literacy and digital inclusion among youth in Uganda, preparing them for a future where digital financial tools will be integral to everyday life.
The engagement at Soroti Municipal Secondary School is part of Tricsoft Technologies’ broader initiative to drive digital transformation in Uganda’s educational sector. Through Buckpocket, the company aims to empower schools and students with innovative tools that simplify financial management and enhance the learning experience.
By introducing Buckpocket to students across Uganda, Tricsoft Technologies is not only promoting a cashless society but also supporting the country’s vision of digital transformation in education. The positive reception from Soroti Municipal Secondary School serves as a testament to the growing need for digital solutions that make everyday processes more efficient, secure, and accessible for all.
As Tricsoft Technologies continues its mission to promote financial technology solutions across Uganda, engagements like the one at Soroti Municipal Secondary School will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the future of digital payments in the education sector.
