With twenty honorary doctorates under his belt, Kurzweil is a computer scientist and futurist with thirty years of experience making correct forecasts. Of his 147 documented prophecies, 86% of them have come true. When Kurzweil first predicted that computers would be as clever as humans in 1999, many people thought he was crazy. However, his projected date of 2029 doesn’t seem that far off. According to reports, Kurzweil is worth approximately $30 million, the most of which he supposedly inherited from the four successful companies he built using his research and academic honors.
